HIST 489 (Fall 2007) Sept. 24I found a short article about the Ivar Aasen monument on Concordia's library website (http://www4.cord.edu/library/Archives/sculpturetour/aasen.htm). I also tried googling Aasen and found a short bio on wikipedia.
Oct. 8Went up to the archives to see if they had anything but they were having some computer problems. I did get one article from the Forum in 1939 about how a royal Norse couple had come to Fargo and seen the monument.
Oct. 15Went to the library and found a couple books with references to Aasen and his work with nynorsk, an alternate Norweidgen national language. I also found a couple more articles online.
Oct. 25I found the archives of old Concordian newspapers on Concordia's website and have started looking through them for any reference to the monument.
Oct. 29Posted outline on wiki.
I FOUND STUFF! I found three articles about the monument and one about Peter Reite, the student who raised the money, in the archives for The Concordian. I also went to the archives and researched Paul Fjelde. I found about nine pages of info on him.
