Abby is a senior this year and will be graduating in December with a degree in History and two minors in Business Administration and Sociology. She grew up in Round Lake, Minnesota, which is a very small town in Southwest Minnesota. After graduation, Abby plans to find a full time job of some sort. This semester, she will be focusing on the Robalo Monument which is located in Lindenwood Park in Fargo, ND. Prospectus: In 2003, the Robalo monument was created by the United States Submarine Veterans of WWII group in North Dakota. This monument was erected in memory of the U.S.S. Robalo sinking, which included three sailors from North Dakota. This monument also serves as a general remembrance to all sailors who lost their life in WWII, and thus future wars. The main sources that I plan to use include The Fargo Forum, Fargo Parks Board, and The U.S. Submarine Veterans association. My tentative hypotheses is: The United States Submarine Veterans of WWII erected the Robalo Monument at Lindenwood Park, in Fargo, ND to commemorate the three North Dakota sailors who were killed when the U.S.S. Robalo sank. Today, the monument also commemorates the other sailors who have lost their life in various wars.
